Welcome to a collection of our previous accomplished projects.
The eCentral project is proposed in the context of the EU territorial cohesion policy with the vision to strengthen EU regions in their capacities to conduct projects that increase energy performance of public buildings.
2017 - 2021
NEWCOM focuses on the development of missing qualification and certification schemes for blue collar workers and building professionals who inspect and control the most relevant qualities with a specific focus on mutual recognition.
2017 - 2021
BioEnergyTrain (BET) aims to develop suitable educational programs (university level) to make future students fit for upcoming challenges. This is in line with the SET plan (Strategic Energy Technology) from the European Union.
2015 - 2019
Goal of the project is to investigate the change of old biomass power plants to new, efficient ones. The impacts on the air quality will be evaluated at the demonstration area of the Styrian municipality Vorau.

A central role in the European energy and climate strategy is taken by efficient buildings. For ensuring a high building quality in the European member states, the European initiative “BUILD UP Skills“ was founded in 2011.

This project deals with the analysis of energy saving potentials and energy efficiency at already existing, non-residential buildings.
2014 - 2016
Development of a methodology for the inspection of heating systems (>20 kW) in the course of the Styrian furnaces law for the national implementation of the European Building Directive (EPBD 31/2010/EU).

In Austria, big companies (>250) are forced by law to implement an energy management system or to carry out a so called energy audit periodically.
2014 - 2015
This project ought to have an influence on the quality (efficiency) of heat pumps, used in Styrian family houses.
2011 - 2015
“SUSTAINCO” (Sustainable Energy for Rural Communities) supports the ambitious European vision for the energy performance of buildings, that by 2020 all new buildings should be “Nearly Zero Energy Buildings”.
2012 - 2015
The objective of the project was the demonstration of possibilities for increasing the air quality in schools.
2010 - 2014
Based on the preceding project “Biogas regions”, the project “Bio-Methane Regions” started in 2011.
2011 - 2014
The main objective of the project was to enable a complimentary and professional energy consultation for low-income households and families, which are at risk of poverty.
2011 - 2014
“MOVIDA – Moving from Inspection to Domestic Advice by service companies” was a 30 months project supported by the European Commission within the IEE-programme.

In the years 2005 to 2014 the Energy Agency Styria, former LandesEnergieVerein Steiermark, managed the federal programme for heating plants management “klima:aktiv qm Heizwerke” of the Austrian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management.

ECOPOL was a European public partnership that aims to accelerate the implementation of eco-innovation policies by identifying and testing efficient tools for implementing eco-innovation policies on a European, national and regional levels.

The provincial government of Styria published in 2011 a programme for air pollution control in Styria. Main goal of this programme was the reduction of the particulate matter pollution, especially at and around Graz and Leibnitz.

For implementing the Styrian Climate Protection Plan and the Energy Strategy 2025, the provincial government of Styria decided to encourage the refurbishment rates of older and inefficient buildings.

In the years 2003 to 2012, the Eco-network NOEST of the Energy Agency Styria, former LandesEnergieVerein, organized six events concerning “Biogas” in cooperation with several other institutions.

Through this campaign, initiated within the framework of the federal climate protection programme “klima:aktiv”, a lot of building owners were supported with their building renovation.

In recent years, European municipalities intensified their cooperation in different fields of action like climate- and energy strategies etc..

Since the 1990’s, representors of the Austrian energy agencies and federal energy ambassadors formed a workgroup for developing an Austrian wide standardized educational programme for energy consultants.

Based on the review that biogas production is still lagging behind in Europe in relation to the objectives fixed for 2010 and its important role within the European Biomass action plan, this project fostered the biogas development in seven highly motivated European regions.

Municipal street lightning could have a share of about 45% of the total electricity demand in small communities.

In the years 2003 to 2010 the Energy Agency Styria, former LandesEnergieVerein Steiermark, organized 17 national conferences for operators and planners of small scale biomass power plants.

Main goal of the project was the evaluation of the use of wind energy in alpine winter sport regions.
2008 - 2009
Due to the success of the previous project “municipal light packages” in the years 2005 and 2006, a second run started in 2007.

The main objective of this project was the preparation of educational materials concerning the European Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings 2002 (EPBD).
2006 - 2008
For raising the energy efficiency of buildings, the European Parliament and the European Council enabled the Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings.
2005 - 2007
In the years 2000 to 2006 the Energy Agency Styria GmbH, former LandesEnergieVerein Steiermark, organized five international conferences for operators and planners of small scale biomass power plants.
2000 - 2006
The Energy Agency Styria, former LandesEnergieVerein Steiermark, participated in the project “fiftyfifty” in the years 1999 to 2002.
