SURECITY - Sustainable and Resource Efficient Cities

Within SURECITY three consortia from Sweden, Portugal and Austria are working together to develop a tool for cities to simulate and review their energy related decision.

SURECITY enables those cities to calculate scenarios and compare environmental implications on the local level. This helps decision makers to decide based on facts and help them to communicate decisions to public more easily. Ecological effects will be assessed by an Environmental assessment Model which takes into account air, water and land-use.

SURECITY consortium contains three cities (one per country) which are very different in size and geographical conditions. This helps to better scale results and make them replicable to other cities as well.
