Projects and Publications

The Energy Agency Styria, former LandesEnergieVerein Steiermark, participated in the project “fiftyfifty” in the years 1999 to 2002.

Main goal of the project was the reduction of the energy demand in Styrian public schools without implementing any constructional measures. The savings should mainly be achieved by awareness-raising campaigns and inexpensive actions at the schools. As an incentive for participation, 50% of the saved energy costs were allowed to remain in the schools budget, whilst the other half was transferred to the federal administration of public schools. Beforehand trained “energy teams” accompanied and implemented the whole processes.

In the project period, about 11 public schools joined the programme.
