The e5 program is a quality management and certification system for municipalities and regions. It supports municipalities in creating interdisciplinary planning approaches and in implementing energy and climate policy measures.

Based on quality management systems, the e5 program is to be understood as a process in which step by step

• Weaknesses uncovered and potential for improvement identified,
• Structures and processes for the successful implementation of energy and climate protection projects are established and strengthened,
• a continuous improvement process is set in motion,
• enabling the participation of the population in energy policy decisions and activities, and
• permanent monitoring by qualified e5 supervisors is available.

Many offers and services of Energie Agentur Steiermark are available to e5 communities free of charge. Regular performance reviews, audits and the award of up to 5e round off the program.
