Award for climate protection and energy policy work of Styrian municipalities

The Energy Agency Styria, e5 Styria and the “Klimabündnis” together with the Province of Styria invited to the awards gala for e5 and “Klimabündnis” communities in Graz.

More than 120 representatives of Styrian municipalities followed the invitation and were honored for their commitment in the field of climate protection and energy efficiency.

This year, the municipalities Lebring-St.Margarethen and Semriach faced the external auditing, which was carried out by the Energy Institute Vorarlberg. At the awards gala, the two communities were honored for their long term commitment and energy policy work.

The community of Lebring - St. Margarethen was awarded by the fourth "e" for its degree of implementation of 62.8%. Semriach has been re-certified with the fourth "e" and now holds at a conversion rate of 70.3% and is only a small step away from the fifth "e".

Provincial Councilor Anton Lang presented the awards and praised the particularly high level of commitment and the pioneering role of the e5 and Klimabündnis - communities for climate protection.
Another highlight of the event was the presentation of ORF Weather Moderator Marcus Wadsak on "Climate Change - Facts versus Fake and Fiction".
